1 University of Hawaiʻi System Scholarships The University of Hawaiʻi (UH) System Scholarships are open to students who are admitted as regular students attending any of the ten (10) campus of the University of Hawaiʻi System. The UH System Scholarship are made available by the generosity of private individuals and organizations who wish to reward students for a wide variety of accomplishments, including, but not limited to, academic achievement, service to the school and community, leadership ability, first-generation college-going, and specific major and career choices. Some take into consideration financial need and unique personal backgrounds. The following scholarships have been incorporated into a single online scholarship application. Availability of certain scholarships is dependent upon the availability of funds. The UH System Common Scholarship Application is available at This online common application is made available in December and the application deadline is March 2 nd. 442 nd Veterans Endowed Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship to Hawaiʻi high school graduates who are majoring in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students majoring in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients shall demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement. Recipients must have been born in Hawaiʻi and be graduates of a Hawaii high school. Recipients shall submit an essay not more than two pages describing the role of the 442 nd in WWII and their legacy. Financial need, not necessarily as determined by federal guidelines. AlohaCare Believes in Me Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist students with financial need who have the desire for an education or to continue their education within any campus of the University of Hawaiʻi System. The fund is intended to assist students who desire to give back to their community through their career with preference to neighbor island students where there is significant shortage of health care needs. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time as undergraduate or graduate students in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Preference shall be given to students in the following order:

2 o Students residing from a neighbor island (not Oahu, or who have graduated from a neighbor island high school. o Students pursuing studies in healthcare or health related field. Financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Short essay (no more than one page) explaining how the student intends to impact the health of their community regardless of their area of study. Students with intent to return to a neighbor island to pursue a career shall be given preference. Ambassador Mary Olmsted Endowed Fellowship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide fellowship support to graduate students from Papua New Guinea enrolled in any area of study at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa or at the University of Hawaiʻi Hilo. The fellowship may be used for tuition, fees, books, room and/or board. Recipients must be full-time or part-time graduate students accepted for enrollment in any area of study at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa or at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Recipients must be citizens of Papua New Guinea American Savings Bank Endowed Scholarship American Savings Bank ( ASB ) is committed to supporting education in Hawaiʻi. It is ASB s intent to link this scholarship to the bank s strategic initiatives which includes supporting K-12 students in Hawaiʻi and encouraging their matriculation into higher education. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students majoring in any area of study Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Recipient must have satisfactory academic performance. Recipients shall be a graduate of Waiʻanae High, Anuenue School, Kapaʻa High, Waiakea High, St. Louis School, Farrington High, Sacred Hearts Academy and Konawaena High Financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines First preference shall be given to incoming Freshman Second preference shall be given to continuing students who were previous recipients of the American Saving Bank Endowed Scholarship Fund for aid year or after. Antone & Edene Vidinha Trust Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist students with financial need who are residents of Kauai and enrolled in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for enrolled courses.

3 Recipients must have been a Kauaʻi resident for at least 12 consecutive months and be a classified student enrolled either full-time or part-time as an undergraduate or graduate in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaii System. Students from Kauaʻi high schools and Kauaʻi home schooling are eligible. Demonstration of financial need. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.0. Must be at least a 12-month resident of the Island of Kauaʻi. Arthur & Beatrice Harris Endowment for Graduate Scholarships The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship support, for both tuition and nontuition expenses, to full-time graduate students enrolled in any field of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be enrolled full-time as a graduate student in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Academic achievement. Some degree of financial need, not necessarily determined by federal guidelines. Charles R. Hemenway Memorial Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship support to undergraduate students enrolled in any field of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Must be a classified undergraduate student attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Must be a resident of the State of Hawaiʻi for tuition purposes. Character and qualities indicative of good citizenship. Personal statement. Must have satisfactory academic progress Claire and Kuhio Asam Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship assistance to Native Hawaiian students attending any University of Hawaiʻi campus pursuing studies in early childhood education. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time as an undergraduate student studying in Early Childhood Education at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Preference shall be given to students of Native Hawaiian ancestry.

4 Academic achievement as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.0. Some degree of financial need, not necessarily determined by federal guidelines. Colonel Harold E. Jensen Scholarship Endowment at the University of Hawaii The scholarship endowment is established to support scholarships for full-time undergraduate students enrolled or enrolling in any school, college, or program within the University of Hawaiʻi system who need financial assistance in order to enroll or continue enrollment. Preference in selection of recipients will be given to the following, in no particular order: o Children of Merrill Lynch Honolulu office employees who are considered support staff. Specifically excluded are the children of Merrill Lynch employees who are in management positions, who are financial consultants, investment advisors, brokers or employees who perform similar duties; o Children of parents residing in Makakilo and other communities of the Waiʻanae Coast, including but not limited to Waiʻanae, Lualualei and Nānākuli. Anyone with financial need that needs assistance to enroll or continue enrollment. David and Wendie McClain Endowed Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to support students who were Regents and Presidential Scholars ( RAPS ) and are pursuing at the graduate level at any four year campus within the UH System (currently UHM, UHH, UHWO). Recipients must intend to share their graduate degree expertise for the benefit of society. Funds may be used for costs associated with attendance (tuition, books, fees, etc.), in addition to funding for software and research related travel, which may include conference fees. Recipients shall be full-time, graduate students in any area of study at any four year campus within any area of study at any four year campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System who have completed their baccalaureate degree and are accepted and/or enrolled in a graduate degree. Recipients must have been UH Regents and Presidential Scholarship recipients. Financial need, not necessarily determined by federal guidelines Preference shall be given to RAPS recipients who began their baccalaureate education at UH community college. Doris Ching Endowed Scholarship for Access The purpose of this fund is to assist students with financial need with the opportunity to receive an education in any area of study at any University of Hawaiʻi campus.

5 Recipients must be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be in good academic standing. Recipients must be graduates of a Hawaiʻi public high school. Recipients must have a strong record of community or school service. Financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Dorothy Y. Luke Memorial Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist students enrolled in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Preference shall be given to students born in the State of Hawaiʻi. Recipients must be enrolled in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System Preference given to students born in the State of Hawaiʻi Financial need, not necessarily defined by federal guidelines Dr. Richard Linn Stevens Scholarship Fund for Restoration To provide scholarships to assist students in any field of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System who demonstrate a commitment in action to the restoration of Hawaii s native ecosystems. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time as undergraduate or graduate students in any program in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must demonstrate commitment to action to the restoration of Hawaiʻi s native ecosystems, including the follow-up that ensures success. Elama Kanahele Scholarship Endowment The purpose of this fund is to assist natives of Niʻihau who are enrolled at Kauaʻi Community College or any four-year campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be full-time or part-time undergraduate students in any field of study at Kauaʻi Community College or any four-year campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Preference shall be given to natives of Niʻihau who speak the Niʻihau language, as self-identified Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation The purpose of this fund is to assist students attending a University of Hawaiʻi Community College who is pursuing a degree or certificate in any area of study.

6 Recipients must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student attending any University of Hawaiʻi Community Colleges in any area of study. Recipients must be a Hawaiʻi resident. Must be a graduate of a Hawaiʻi high school Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of Demonstrated financial need, not as determined by federal guidelines. Faʻa Samoa Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship to assist undergraduate students enrolled in any area of study at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Scholarships are available to all, but students of Samoan ancestry are especially encouraged to apply. Recipients must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Recipients must be working towards completing either an Associate or Baccalaureate degree in any area of study. For current students, a grade point average of at least Personal essay describing special accomplishments, community activities, educational plans and aspirations for the future. Preference is given to students of Samoan ancestry. Fernandez Earle Endowed Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist students who are Hawaiʻi residents, preferably Boys and Girls Club of Hawaiʻi members on Oahu, to attend any University of Hawaiʻi campus. The scholarship is intended to pay for costs associated with attendance. Recipients shall be full-time, undergraduate students majoring in any area of study at any of the University of Hawaiʻi campus with preference given to students who have an interest in Marine Sciences. Recipients must be Hawaiʻi residents. Preference shall be given to members of the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaiʻi on Oahu. Recipients must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or above to obtain the scholarship and must maintain a 3.00 GPA in order to renew it. Recipients must be a graduate of a private or public high school in the State of Hawaiʻi. Recipients must demonstrate volunteerism and service to the community. Financial need shall be a criterion in making this award. Eligibility shall be determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Fun Factory Scholarship

7 The Fun Factory will award up to twenty $1000 scholarships (along with a University of Hawaiʻi tuition scholarship) to graduating high school seniors in Hawaiʻi who have been accepted to a campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Student must be a Hawaiʻi resident. Student must be a graduating senior from a Hawaiʻi public or private high school. Student must be accepted to a college prior to receiving the scholarship. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.5 Student must be an incoming first-time freshman. Harold and Sandy Noborikawa Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to be used for tuition only for students pursing any field of undergraduate study at any four-year University of Hawaiʻi campus on the Island of Oʻahu. First-time recipients must be incoming freshman enrolled as full-time, undergraduate students majoring in any field of study at any four-year University of Hawaiʻi campus on the island of Oʻahu. Recipients shall have cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or above. Recipients must have been born in Hawaiʻi and be graduates of a Hawaiʻi public high school. Financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Hawaiʻi Florists & Shippers Association Endowed Scholarship Fund for Community Colleges This scholarship fund supports full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in agriculture at any University of Hawaiʻi community college. Must be a resident of Hawaiʻi. Must be a continuing University of Hawaiʻi community college student and enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program in agriculture. Academic merit as demonstrated by a cumulative GPA of 2.0. Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Hawaiʻi Lions and Leos Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist Lion and Leo Club Members who are attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be Lion or Leo Club members who are graduates of a Hawaiʻi high school, enrolled full-time or part-time as undergraduates or graduates in any area of study within the University of Hawaiʻi System.

8 Must be a Lion or Leo Club Member. Must be a Hawaiʻi high school graduate. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.5. Hawaiʻi Veterans Memorial Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to assist students within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Must be full-time students enrolled in an undergraduate program within the university of Hawaiʻi System. Be a Hawaiʻi resident. Be an undergraduate who is full-time and in good standing. Demonstrate good character One letter of recommendation from a non-related individual Demonstrate financial need Have the following minimum academic record: o University freshmen & sophomores: 2.5 cumulative GPA o University juniors & seniors: 2.75 cumulative GPA o Community college students: 2.0 cumulative GPA Henry E. Renteria Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to assist and inspire deserving college or university students who are pursuing studies in English at any University of Hawaiʻi campus with preference given to students at UH Mānoa, UH Hilo, UH West Oʻahu, Kapiʻolani Community College and Windward Community College. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students. Recipients must be pursuing a degree or certificate in English at any University of Hawaiʻi campus with preference given to students at UH Mānoa, UH Hilo, UH West Oʻahu, Kapiʻolani Community College and Windward Community College. Recipients shall have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above. Recipients may be international or U.S. citizens. Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Herbert H. Lee Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist full-time, undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in any field of study at any campus in the University of Hawaii System. Recipients must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi.

Drake The purpose of this fund is to assist full-time, undergraduate students who are graduates of Nanakuli High School, enrolled in any field of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Some degree of financial need Must be a graduate of Nanakuli High School Ho-Pang Endowed Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist students attending any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi System with costs associated with attendance (tuition, books, fees, etc.) Recipients must be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. John Vernon & Shizuko Nakagawa Harry Endowed Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to assist students enrolled at the University of Hawaiʻi pursuing any course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree. Must be a undergraduate student Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.0 Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time at the University of Hawaiʻi pursuing any course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree. John M. Ross Foundation Scholarship The scholarship is to be used to fund college or vocational scholarships for students from the Big Island attending University of Hawaiʻi campuses who have recently received a high school diploma or equivalent within the last three years prior to scholarship application. Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for the enrolled courses. Preference will be given to longtime residents of the Big Island

It will assist students, preferably African American students, studying at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system to attain their educational goals. Recipients must be enrolled as a full-time student or accepted as an undergraduate or graduate student at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Academic merit as demonstrated by cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in college for continuing students or 3.0 in high school for entering students Evidence of financial need Evidence of community leadership or service State of Hawaiʻi resident Kaiser Permanente Scholarships for Students in Health Care at University of Hawaiʻi This scholarship is established by the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program to assist and encourage student in the field of health care. Preference will be given to graduates of the Farrington Health Academy. Resident of Hawaiʻi Graduate of Hawaiʻi high school Recipients must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student or accepted in an undergraduate degree program in any area of health care at any campus with the University of Hawaiʻi System Academic merit as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 Some degree of financial need A demonstrated commitment to healthcare which may include, but is not limited to any of the following: o volunteer work o current or previous employment in health services o participation in Farrington Health Academy o enrollment in a course of studies in health services o career goals and plans as described in the scholarship application. Preference will be given to graduates of the Farrington Health Academy

11 Kanuikapono PCS Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist graduates of the Kanuikapono Public Charter School who are attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student as an undergraduate or graduate student at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Must be a graduate of Kanuikapono Public Charter School Have some degree of financial need, not necessarily determined by federal guidelines Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.0 Must be a State of Hawaiʻi resident Leon J. Rhodes Scholarship This scholarship is to provide support to continuing University of Hawaiʻi students at the end of their sophomore year, who demonstrated academic excellence, exemplary and outstanding leadership, self-determined and good citizens as a result of their experiences while at University of Hawaiʻi. Priority will be given to sophomore applicants who fulfill as many of the criteria listed below as is possible. Must be admitted and enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa ( UHM ), University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo ( UHH ) or University of Hawaii at West Oʻahu ( UHWO ). Evidence as determined by peers, staff and/or faculty that the student has demonstrated the following while at UHM/UHH/UHWO. o Developed successful human relationship; o Applied knowledge gained in the classroom for personal growth; o Begun to formulate and articulate personal career plans that bear some relationship to his/her interest and course of study; and o Actively participated in the development of activities designed to enhance the quality of campus life. The candidate shall have completed a minimum of two semesters successfully at UHM/UHH/UHWO prior to the semester in which the award is given. The candidate shall have demonstrated either outstanding leadership and/or participation in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities at UHM/UHH/UHWO and/or in the community. The candidate shall demonstrate the value he or she places on the experiences at UHM/UHH/UHWO by helping another student (s) or individual (s) in the general community. Maggie & Dan Inouye Hawaii Education Foundation Endowed Scholarship

12 The purpose of this fund is to promote and enhance educational opportunities for residents of the State of Hawaii, who will attend any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students in any area of study attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be a Hawaiʻi resident. Recipients must be a graduate of a Hawaiʻi public school. Preference shall be given to entering first-year students. Preference shall be given to students who have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic or educational disadvantage to further promote diversity within the University. Financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Margaret Choy Au Endowed Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to students in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must have a maximum grade point average of no higher than 3.7 at the time of application but no less than a 2.0. Preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a Hawaiʻi high school. Preference shall be given to students who demonstrate community involvement, leadership or exceptional commitment to family. Michael J. Levin Endowed Scholarship This fund is being established to assist underrepresented students from Pacific Island countries who are pursuing a degree in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in any area of study at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Must be underrepresented students from Pacific Island countries Academic merit Financial need, not necessarily based on federal guidelines Preference given to students from Micronesia Preference given to students who will return to their country of origin to utilize the degree for the betterment of their home community Preference given to high achieving students

13 Mildred Towle Scholarship for International Students at the University of Hawaiʻi The purpose of this fund is to assist international students attending a campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be a foreign student enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. (Students from American territories are eligible to apply) Academic merit as demonstrated by a GPA of at least 3.0 Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Mildred Towle Scholarship Trust The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to students pursuing a degree in any area of study within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time as an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in any area of study within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.5 Some degree of financial need, not necessarily determined by federal guidelines. Military Intelligence Service Veterans of Hawaiʻi/Makiki Japanese Language School Endowed Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to assist students attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system who would like to perpetuate the Japanese language and culture. Recipients must be enrolled full-time at any University of Hawaiʻi campus, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus on Japanese language and/or culture. Special consideration will be given to students who plan a career teaching Japanese language. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.0. Extracurricular activities related to the Japanese language or culture. Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. National Association of Women in Construction Honolulu Chapter Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to support students attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system who are enrolled in courses and/or have intent to pursue a career in the construction industry (i.e. engineering, architecture, CAD, carpentry, plumbing, safety, etc.).

14 Recipients at the university level must be enrolled full-time as a classified undergraduate student at any four year campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients at the community college level may be enrolled part-time as a classified undergraduate student at any community college campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be residents of Hawaiʻi. Must be a graduate of a Hawaiʻi high school. Must have completed at least 12 credits at a UH campus and will be enrolled in their second year of study. Must be pursuing a degree or certificate in any area related to the construction industry (i.e. engineering, architecture, CAD, carpentry, plumbing, safety, etc.) Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of Some degree of financial need, not as determined by federal guidelines. Preference shall be given to students who demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, honors/awards, etc. Palolo Lions Club Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to assist incoming freshman students at the University of Hawaiʻi residing in the Palolo Lions Club district. Recipients must be an incoming freshman, enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program in any campus of the University of Hawaiʻi System. Applicants must reside within the boundaries of the Palolo Lions Club district. Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Academic merit as demonstrated by a GPA of 2.5 Senator Daniel K. Akaka Regents Scholarship Endowment This fund is established to support students selected as a University of Hawaiʻi Regents Scholars as a first-year incoming freshman over four consecutive years. First-time recipients must be a first-year, incoming freshman (renewal up to four consecutive years as long as other criteria below are met) Must be full-time, undergraduate students enrolled in any area of study at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Must have graduated from a Hawaiʻi high school Evidence of extracurricular achievements Preference given to students of Hawaiian ancestry, as self-identified Stanford Carr Endowed Centennial Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to support University of Hawaiʻi Community College students, including UH Maui College, who are recipients of the UH Centennial

15 Scholarship and who will be transferring to a four-year campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Must be recipients of the UH Centennial Scholarship and be in compliance with all requirements of the UH Centennial Scholars Program: o Recipients must be residents of Hawaiʻi. o Graduates of a Hawaiʻi high school in May 2007 or later. o Attended a UH campus as a freshman in the fall semester following graduation. o UH Centennial Scholarship funding may be granted for up to eight semesters at a baccalaureate campus or up to four consecutive semesters at a community college campus if a 3.00 GPA is maintained. Recipients must be University of Hawaiʻi Community College students, including UH Maui College, who have obtained their associates degree and will be transferring to a four-year campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Stars of Oceania Scholarship Endowment The purpose of this fund is to assist Pacific Island students who will attend any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Recipients must be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients shall have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. Recipients must be students from the following Pacific Islands: American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Futuna, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Wallis, who are admitted to any University of Hawaii campus. Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Preference shall be given to applicants who submit one letter of recommendation from a non-related faculty member or community member. Sure Save Super Market, LTD. Tomoko Okuyama Scholarship Endowment The purpose of this fund is to assist incoming freshman at any University of Hawaiʻi campus on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi in their pursuit of higher education. Recipients must be incoming first year freshman accepted at any University of Hawaiʻi campus on the Island of Hawaiʻi who are enrolled at least six (6) credit hours each semester. Recipients must be residents of the Island of Hawaiʻi. Preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school on the Island of Hawaiʻi.

16 Recipients shall have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or above. Recipients must demonstrate good character and be active in community affairs. UHAA Endowed Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist children and grandchildren of University of Hawaiʻi alumni of any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system who will be pursuing studies at any University of Hawaiʻi campus in addition to assist children and/or grandchildren of University of Hawaiʻi Alumni Association (UHAA) members. Recipient must be full-time, undergraduate students majoring in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must have sophomore, junior or senior class standing. Recipients must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above. Recipients must be a child or grandchild of a University of Hawaiʻi alumni or UHAA member as self-identified through the application process. Recipients must demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, employment and/or community service activities. Personal statement outlining financial need and career goals. UHAA San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Scholarship The purpose of this fund is to assist students who reside in the San Francisco Bay Area who will be pursuing studies at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. It is the desire of the UHAA San Francisco Bay Area Chapter to provide financial assistance and mentorship to students from their region planning to attend their alma mater. Recipients will be invited to join the chapter s annual luau held in May or June of each year with the hope they can send the recipients off to Hawaii knowing they have many who support them. Recipient must reside from the San Francisco Bay area enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student at any of the University of Hawaiʻi campuses. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.0. Some degree of financial need, not as determined by federal guidelines. Preference shall be given to graduates of a San Francisco Bay area high school who will be pursuing their graduate degree. University of Hawaiʻi Scholarship This fund is to assist undergraduate students who are admitted and enrolled full-time at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system Graduate of a high school in Hawaiʻi Academic merit as demonstrated by 3.0 GPA and/or top 20% in the class

Varsity Victory Volunteers Endowed Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to assist students attending any University of Hawaiʻi campus, who subscribe to the Triple V s spirit of service to the community and country. Recipients must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student attending any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Must be graduates of a Hawaii high school. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.5 Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Demonstrated participation in volunteer and community service activities. Preference given to those who subscribe to Triple Vʻs Spirit of Service to Community & County. Victor and Peggy Brandstrom Pavel Scholars The purpose of the funds is to provide scholarships up to full tuition, for up to four consecutive years to undergraduate students in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Funds shall be used for costs associated with attendance (tuition, books, fees, etc.) Recipients must be enrolled full-time, as an undergraduate student majoring in any field of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi System. Must show academic promise as determined by the selection committee Preference may be given to students in underrepresented groups as determined by the University. Violet S. Sato Endowed Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to assist Waialua High School or Kaimuki High School graduates who will be incoming freshmen at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be enrolled full-time, as undergraduate students majoring in any field of study at any campus of the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients should be a first-time incoming freshman. Recipients shall have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or above. Recipients must be graduates of Waialua High School or Kaimuki High School. Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Virginia Pearson Ransburg Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship

18 The Virginia Pearson Ransburg Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship was established through a bequest from Virginia Pearson Ransburg in the name of her sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma, for the purpose of providing an annual grant to assist a girl or girls from the Trust Territories to take a teaching course at the University of Hawaiʻi. Any full-time or part-time student enrolled at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa or at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo with an expressed intent to major in education. Preference will be given in the following priority order: o Women majoring in Education at UH Manoa, UH West Oahu or UH Hilo o Women majoring in any area of study at any UH campus o Men majoring in UH Manoa, UH West Oahu or UH Hilo o Men majoring in any area of study at any UH campus Must be native to or resident of one of the island groups of the former Trust Territories of the Pacific. These include: o Federated States of Micronesia o Republic of Palau o Republic of the Marshall Islands o Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. Recipient must be enrolled in a course of study considered to appropriately qualify a person to teach, presumable in one of the island groups of the former Trust Territories of the Pacific. Walter A. and Diane N. Dods Endowed Scholarship Fund The purpose of this fund is to provide renewable scholarship to graduates of Hawaiʻi public high school to attend any campus of the University of Hawaiʻi system. This scholarship is intended to support incoming students up to four consecutive years of education with hopes of retaining students through degree or certificate completion. Preference will be given to immigrants or second generation immigrants to Hawaiʻi. Recipients must be full-time, undergraduate students pursuing a degree or certificate in any area of study at any campus in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients shall have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above. Recipients must be a graduate of a Hawaiʻi public high school. Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Preference shall be given to candidates who are immigrants or second generation immigrants to Hawaii. Walter Francis and Mary Dillingham Frear Endowed Scholarship This fund is established to honor Walter F. and Mary Dillingham Frear by providing funding in perpetuity to assist students attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system.

Schiner Scholarship Endowment The purpose of this fund is to assist students enrolled and pursuing educational study or training in the health care profession at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi System. Recipients must be enrolled full-time or part-time as undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a degree or certificate program related to health care at any University of Hawaiʻi campus. Must be a US citizen Some degree of financial need, not as determined by federal guidelines Demonstrates and/or expresses intent to pursue a career in the health care profession Preference given to those who are classified in a health care program. Yonge-Cathcart Scholarship Endowment This fund is established to support non-traditional adult students returning to college to pursue and/or complete certificates or degrees at any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Recipients must be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate, nontraditional adult students, preferably age 25-60, attending any campus within the University of Hawaiʻi system. Priority shall be given to students pursuing their first degree or certificate over students pursuing a second degree or certificate, or graduate student. Recipients shall be Hawaiʻi residents Graduates of a Hawaiʻi high school or students who pass the Hawaiʻi general education development ( GED ) Test. Satisfactory academic progress as determined by the committee. Financial need, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines. Preference shall be given in the following priority: o Renewals (past recipients who re-apply and meet all scholarship criteria) o Students of Native Hawaiian ancestry
